A two boat team representing the Royal Cork, and skippered by Frederick Cudmore & George Kingston, finished a credible 4th at last weekend’s prestigious Monaco 2K Team Racing Invitational.

UCD Win Irish University Sailing Association Inter-Varsities at Wexford


On the 20th-22nd of February, the Irish University Sailing Association Inter-Varsities Championships took place in Wexford Harbour Boat and Tennis Club. 25 teams from 9 colleges around the country, including 2 teams from Scotland competed for the annual trophy.

The ITRA Team Racing Championships 2013 Report


The results of the 2013 Irish Team Racing Association Irish Team Racing Nationals could inspire a strange feeling of déjà vu. Yet again the final was sailed between visitors Wessex Exempt and local team the George Knights. Once again, Wessex Exempt, this year’s Wilson Trophy winners, emerged as overall winners, with the George Knights as Irish Champions.

2013 is set to be a vintage year for the Irish Team Racing Association Irish Team Racing National Championships.

20 teams have entered, with others on the waiting list. Four teams are travelling from the UK, including last year’s overall winners Wessex Exempt, and West Kirby.

GBR takes Gold and Silver in toughest final of the Eurosaf 2K Championships


Eurosaf 2K Keelboat Team Racing Championships at the Batavia Sailing Centre Lelystad Holland

GBR takes Gold and Silver in the toughest fought final of the Eurosaf 2K Championships at the Batavia Sailing Centre at Lelystad Holland.. The Royal Thames Yacht Club team skippered by Andy Cornah and Claire Lasko finished the three day championships with only a single loss to take the Arthur Little Trophy and the 2nd edition of the Eurosaf Championships. GBR Itchenor Saiing Club, skippers George Yeoman and Andy Shaw, took second place while ITA Yacht Club Costa Smeralda ,skippers Jacopo Pasini and Antonio Sodo Migliori took Bronze.

RSGYC 175th Anniversary Team Racing Challenge


On Saturday 18th May the Royal St George Yacht Club held a Team Racing ‘Reunion’ to mark the 175th anniversary of the club and the arrival of a new fleet of fireflies. Howth Yacht Club were among a strong Irish representation at this year’s Wilson Trophy. Lynn Reilly, Simon Rattigan, Geoff Tait, Freya Macken, Daragh O’Connor and Emma Geary represented HYC in what is widely held as the best, and toughest team racing event in the world.
