With only 10 days to go before the Irish Team Racing Championships, 15 teams have entered. With the event returning to the Royal St  Yacht Club, the local team, the George Knights, will be faced with some stiff competition.  5 teams are travelling from the UK.  2 of the Irish teams are based on sailors that represented Ireland in the recent Team Racing Worlds in Schull. Finally, the college circuit will be well represented, with teams from UCD, UCC and Trinity College.

Team racing is an umpired sport, and the Irish Team Racing Association has brought together a group of umpires including 3 International Umpires from the UK and the USA. The intention is to run racing as a Swiss League, in which teams are paired according to earlier results in the competition. In this way races should evenly matched, and exciting for both competitors and spectators. Racing will take place in Dun Laoghaire Harbour and can be followed from the East Pier.
